James Hauber is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Iowa. He has been working in the Office of Bridges and Structures at the Iowa Department of Transportation for the past 26 years. He worked as a bridge designer for 10 years, a Bridge Management Engineer for 2 years, and a Load Rating Engineer for 9 years before becoming the Chief Structural Engineer. He is active on the AASHTO COBS Asset Management Technical committees, Research Special Committee, and Vice chair of the Technical Committee, and serves as the Iowa DOT BIM for Bridges and Structures Pooled Fund Project Manager.
