Heather Sackman is a Professional Engineer bringing over 18 years of transportation engineering to her role in overseeing complex Backbone Program construction projects for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation - Southeast Region. Over her 14-year tenure with the department, she has successfully managed large transportation projects in both design and construction, including the Hoan Bridge, I-94 North-South Corridor, and Wisconn Valley Development Roads. Her diverse leadership background also includes managing regional systems operations, where she directed a team responsible for over 500 signalized intersections and 10,000 lighting assets. Heather holds a civil engineering degree from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, is a Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and has completed both the Advanced Management and Leadership and Executive Leadership certificates from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business.
